  • Doobie Brothers

Given the discussion about the various incarnations of Van Halen, I'm wondering what you all think about the Doobie Brothers. Do you prefer the hard-rocking Tom Johnston era, or the softer-rocking Michael McDonald era, or both equally? (I'm including a poll here, as well.)
And why the heck aren't the Doobies in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame yet?

    Hard-rock Tom Johnston version
    60.00%

    Softer-rock Michael McDonald version

    0
    Both versions equally

    .

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

    Re: Doobie Brothers

While I heard a lot of the Doobies over the years, I didn't really get into their hits that much, but explored the catalog later and realized what damn good players these guys were, so I would have to go for "equal."

"Black Water" is still my favorite, because of Novi Novog's viola solo.

      Michael McDonald...ewwwww!
