The higher GET is for Honolulu only, I think. If the benefit of the goods or services is received in Honolulu, then it's subject to the higher GET. It's gonna be a pain to do taxes for those of us in business since the new tax forms are gonna separate out Honolulu from the other counties for tax return purposes.

But sort of back on topic, I wonder how the site figured out what all the people in the world earn and how to deal with the conversion rates of all the different kinds of currency?

the tough part is, the more you make, the more you spend. your life style changes a little, but you are still who you are... Money doesn't buy happiness, nor can it buy friendships... i use to work more & make more, but didn't have a life.. now i have time for family & things i want to do... we struggle, but get by.
Life is much better as a whole... enjoy each day, jeff

Hmm. I guess that "accumulated wealth" isn't taken in account -- it's not how much one earns, but how much one manages to keep that determines wealth.

Once you put in a salary even 1 dollar over 200,000 you go from being the 786,570 richest with a $200,000 salary to the 106,565 richest with a $200,001. Their data isn't really complete, but nice site to try to remind people to give to charity. Thanks for the link.

You know what's funny? Most people confuse high income with wealth. there is a big difference. I know folks that have $150K income and are not accumulating wealth.

Conversely you can make $50K income and accumulate wealth in a lifetime.

A wealth meter would be cooler :-)

Wealth is not a function of how much you have. Wealth is a function of how much another person will give to you.

Imagine the signature loan power of Donald Trump or Bill Gates?

For me, wealth is a function of the overall happiness in my daughter's life.
