Took a visiting friend for a drive up the windward coast today, and stopped for lunch at Crouching Lion Inn, which officially re-opened for business last Saturday (after a soft opening one week earlier). The place looks great now, and the food was delicious and fairly priced. Dinner menu looked pretty good too. Their website doesn't seem to be up yet, but hopefully the menus will be on it when it is.
Portobello burger (incl. hamburger patty and a whole portobello mushroom!) with an incredible sauce from Diamond Head Market and Grill. Ditto for eldest spawn. We brought food back for dinner. There's no way I'm taking a car out of the parking garage tonight! Ala Moana Beach park to Diamond Head is already a zoo.
Combo plate of pork adobo, some sort of grilled chicken, brown rice, mac salad from the HCC Cafeteria and a bottle of Mountain Dew from the vending machine.
Tuscan roasted chicken (lemon, rosemary), with roasted veggies and red bliss potatoes; water. Got to see my friend Jonathan Sypert at the Nordstrom Cafe, his day job. If any of you see the promos for the Waikiki Nei (forever in pre-production mode!), he's the 'fro-headed dude on the surfboard. Very creative, pleasant, loves performing, loves kids.
