Last night I started my 2 day process of making Portuguese Bean Soup. I've been craving it.....it will hit the spot tonight with some diamond head soda crackers!

I like 'em with good French bread. Most of my friends and relatives like it with rice, but I really think it should be eaten with bread. After all, it is Portuguese, and Portuguese are bread people (that's why we have Sweetbread).
Well, I just emerged from a major cook-a-rama-rellathon in panavision and technicolor!!! I have dinner choices for tonight.
Steelhead trout was on sale at Safeway. I baked it in lemon juice and basil pesto. Roasted some fresh broccoli with olive oil and chopped pecans. The broccoli and trout are now packaged into individual tv-style dinners!
I saw a turkey burger on Oprah a few months ago. She said it was the best she'd ever had...from Trump's chef, iirc. Since ground turkey breast was also on sale at Safeway, I decided to try the recipe. I now have 12 patties ready for the George Foreman Grill!
