  • Suggestion: someone run a website with oldie newscasts

A strong suggestion, you guys should put together a website that has oldie newscast videos...when I mean oldie, back when Joe Moore wore those ridiculous aloha shirts on Fridays, Tim Tindall and Tina Shelton were on KITV together, Bob Jones on KGMB....I'm sure you people got the jist.

    Youtube does not cut it.

Well, YouTube and its lax enforcement policies are a helpful barrier between copyright infringers and the copyright owners' lawyers.

Years ago, our comedy troupe wrote a sketch about a new radio format:
"All-Request News" --- an all-news station that plays only classic stories, as requested by listeners.

If I could, I would not have posted such a message like this now would I?

If the "you guys" to whom you referred can do it, and you are able to post to what "you guys" have done with HT - then you can build such a website.

It's relatively easy to get started these days, building even the most rudimentary of websites - there are plenty of books and instructors to help you out. In 2006, no need to wait for someone else to create what you would like to see!

Maybe all oldiebuff needs to do is make a single webpage that identifies and links to any of that specific material which may already reside on YouTube. One-stop spotting.

An easily updated site that links to material elsewhere, particularly (these days) YouTube? Sounds like a blog.

I can, but then the site will be evenworse.net/localtvnewscasts or something like that

BTW, where can I get the software like youtube to show a few clips?
How'd I get so white and nerdy?
