Directv now offers Honolulu local stations:

Highlights:
Requires Directv H20 receiver(MPEG4 capable)
1.2m (4ft) Dish
KPXO, KWHE and KBFD not included.
Stations are transmitted from Spaceway1(103w) in MPEG4, Mainland markets on S1 in MPEG4 are HD locals, ours SD.

Wonder how much this is going to take away from Oceanic. With the number of DISH antennas I see, it appears DISH-TV has taken a considerable number of subscribers away from cable.

My friend uses Dish and is pretty happy with it. No real downside except he doesn't have the option to get U.H. pay-per-view programming.

I'm reading about the offerings from Directv and it seems to be a pretty good alternative to OTW, but I don't know anyone who has it. Anyone here using Directv?
