  • dream team

i remember a while back reading a post asking to list your "dream team" if you were starting a news station. i'm curious to see how much things have changed in that time.

    so here's my news team.

main anchor - joe moore (what can i say? bruda is the man)
co anchor - tanya jaoquin (awesome anchor)
(i don't know if this would work...but i would try...seems like only person joe gets along with is kanoa leahey.)
reporter 1 - stephanie lum (she's easy to watch)
    reporter 2 - paul udell (great story-teller)
reprter 3 - marisa yamane (walks you through the story very well)
weather - kathy muneno (why she's no longer at kitv is beyond me)
sports - kanoa leahey (could be the best sports guy this towns has had (and i'm old!)

    weekends -
anchor - tasha kobashigawa (beautiful and witty)
reporter 1 - jai cunnigham (very profesional)
reporter 2 - dan misenzal (adds a smile to the news)
weather - joann shinn (very nice smile)
sports - rob demello (great enthusiasm, easy to watch, and he and tasha get along probably the best after joe and kanoa)

all of these people make the news enjoyable and would make a great team.

    Re: dream team

I'll go with this lineup, on journalistic merits alone (mostly):

Anchors: Ron Mizutani and Leslie Wilcox (best rapport on local news)
Police Beat Reproter: Minna Sugimoto (she's comes off as a beat veteran)
Political Reporter: Greg Takayama (he's thorough and articulate, and he's always got an answer when Joe Moore tries to stump him)
Go-to-guy: Brooks Baehr (he seems to actually understand any story from end to end)
Slice of Life Guy: Manolo Morales (on delivery alone)
Entertainment Guy: Kirk Matthews (he seems to genuinely enjoy it)
Weather: Guy Hagi (his surf coverage is unparalleled)
Sports: Toss-up between Kanoa Leahy or Liz Chun (he was obviously born to it, but Chun knows her stuff without being erudite, and she's frankly quite hot)
    Don't be mean,
    try to help.

      Re: dream team

I have clearly lost track of on-air TV personalities in Honolulu, being away from home for too long now. The one TV personality I really liked was Jill Kuremoto on KITV-4 when she was teamed up with Paul Udell during the morning broadcasts. I'm clueless as to who is on in that time slot anymore..I guess I should check out www.thehawaiichannel.com and see what the current line-up is.
