  • Any guesses as to what format KIPA will sign on with?

After learning that KKOA on the Big Island signed on with a Country format, I want to hazard a guess as to what format KIPA will sign on with. My guess is that KIPA will sign on with an MOR format.

KHBC's music mix includes Oldies that you can hear on KBGX. KHBC's music mix also includes Country that you can now hear on KKOA. KHBC's music mix also includes MOR that is heard nowhere else.

I encourage others to guess what format KIPA will sign on with.

Tahitian music 24 hours a day might also be fun. :-)

According to Inside Radio/M Street, KIPA has returned to the air on 11/1/2004 with Adult Standards. However, when I tune my radio to AM 620, I hear nothing. Can anyone in Hilo hear anything on AM 620? If not, can someone give an update on the status of the KIPA transmitter and when the station is expected to return to the air? Mahalo nui loa.

There is nothing on KIPA as of today. I'm on the Big Island this week. Dead air at 620 AM.

KIPA is back on the air with a country music format. KIPA is simulcasting KKOA FM 107.7.

KIPA is off the air again. The simulcast of KKOA must have been done to test the KIPA transmitter. KIPA's signal made it all the way to Oahu. So, the KIPA transmitter must be in good condition. I think Skynet Hawaii is now deciding on a new format for KIPA before putting the station on the air for good.

It was just a test indeed. Stay tuned. Interesting, all the way to Oahu? Thanks for the update.
