  • Classic Country is no more - now it's a simulcast of KHNR FM 97.5

KAIM AM 870 just dropped classic country for a simulcast of news and talk station KHNR FM 97.5. News and talk on an AM station is more logical. I think AM 870's transmitter should be moved from Molokai to Oahu so that there will be a clear signal throughout Oahu. Once AM 870's transmitter is moved to Oahu, FM 97.5 should switch to a music format. One possibility would be to move KHCM AM 1170's contemporary country format to FM 97.5 and reinstall classic country on AM 1170. Another possibility would be to put smooth jazz on FM 97.5.

Uh-oh. What's gonna happen to Charlie Garrett now?
    Maybe he'll go to KHUI?

    .

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I don't know what Charlie's doing these days. I haven't heard him in a month on 1170. I noticed the 870 change within the last 48 hours...it was a blank station for a couple of weeks, then started the simulcast.
