This set of stairs, tucked into the cliffs above ( #1 ) valley, reaches for the crest of the Koolaus. It's frequent disappearance into the clouds has earned it the name ( #2 ). And what wonderful vistas await, views privy to birds and angels alike.

Haiku Stairs? They go from Haiku Valley to the top of the Koolaus. Also called "Stairway to Heaven".

I sure miss that place. I went all the time. And even considered sneaking down there till I was told that it's a $500 fine if I was caught. Rats n Frats n Stink n winkin', etc.

Still waiting for the location of the main Maui landfill (there's also one in Lahaina, but the main one is somewhere in Central Maui).
