It's Kahaialulu, on the south side of Kau'iki Hill (birthplace of Queen Kaahumanu) in Hana.

This set of stairs, tucked into the cliffs above ( #1 ) valley, reaches for the crest of the Koolaus. It's frequent disappearance into the clouds has earned it the name ( #2 ). And what wonderful vistas await, views privy to birds and angels alike.

Haiku Stairs? They go from Haiku Valley to the top of the Koolaus. Also called "Stairway to Heaven".

Haiku Stairs? They go from Haiku Valley to the top of the Koolaus. Also called "Stairway to Heaven". Miulang

A natural ocean spa tub that gently rises and falls with the swell, but on days of high surf is not gentle and can injure people. It's been closed to the public since the mid-90's.

I sure miss that place. I went all the time. And even considered sneaking down there till I was told that it's a $500 fine if I was caught.

Still waiting for the location of the main Maui landfill (there's also one in Lahaina, but the main one is somewhere in Central Maui).
