Last year Craig told us a story about limestone caves beneath Ala Moana Center in this thread. Eh Craig, any more to add to that one? There was a mention of the Mōʻiliʻili Karst in that thread too, which is how I found it.

Wow brah, I knew there was an underground cave system in the Mo'ili'ili area, but I had no idea it was that big!

Here's a cool photo from a Feb. 2006 SB article that featured an almost 400-page book called, "Mo'ili'ili -- The Life of a Community."

I found the following quote really intriguing because my dad is from Mo'ili'ili and I ate at the old Kuhio Grill many times.

Businesses are documented, from the Miyazono Open-Air Theatre that screened American silent films starring Mary Pickford, Tom Mix and Rudolph Valentino, to Kuhio Grill, where a kitchen floor led to a water-filled cavern where those in the know could catch mullet.

        Amen to that.
And perhaps we've just found a solution to where to put the homeless?!? I haven't had time to read all about it yet, but could it possibly be livable down there?

I think that would be highly doubtful.

perpetual darkness and humidity, lack of important environmental cues, complex mazelike living space, stressful or even lethal gas mixtures, patchy food resources, barren rocky substrates, wet and slippery vertical surfaces, and occasional flooding.

Thanks, Lurkah. As I said, I hdan't read the whole thing. Please consider my suggestion to put the homeless there to be dropped.
Instead, we should put the politicians there.

Boy I suck at this game, I guess cause I am dyslexic with locations. I suck when it come's down to finding places yet I have been living here my whole life, but I will stay tuned to see who does what. After all it's fun watching....
