  • Feral Cats in Hawai`i

As many of you have obviously noticed, there is a problem with the numbers of cats in Hawai`i; not only O`ahu, but Maui and Kauai as well.

Most of these are abandoned pets or unwanted litters from people who do not spay/neuter their cats.

    They dump them like trash.

Not every crazy cat lady (or guy) has the resources to Trap, Neuter Return and Maintain (TNRM) these felines, so the numbers grow.

There are a few of us doing TNRM, but we are self-funded and overwhelmed.

If the state or C&C doesn't step in, we will have feral cats around our ankles. The 'no-kill' shelters are full, there are many of us maintaining colonies of cats all over the island - catching and 'fixing' new arrivals, and feeding the ones in the colonies.

Oh, and if you think euthanization is an answer, please step up and volunteer; there are too many people as well.
