  • Hawaiian Sewing Patterns

I'm looking for sewing patterns for Hawaiian wear... muumuus and other Hawaiian themed clothes for women. The only pattern maker I see is this one: http://www.hulasource.com/patterns.html Are there any other? I've googled, searched ebay, etc.

I'm pretty sure these are the same ones at Hula Source, but just in case, you might check these ones out.

    Also this one.

Thanks, Mokihana. Yes, those are the same patterns. They seem to be the only Polynesian type pattern maker around, and they've had the same patterns forever. I was looking for something a little more current, or different, at least. I guess I can look at the regular pattern makers and adapt. Thanks again!

            Re: Hawaiian Sewing Patterns

Pauloa and Patterns Pacifica both went out of business in the 1980s. Victoria Jones has the market now for "Hawaiian patterns". Note: if you have a more Northern European body (think ipu: small shoulders regardless of bust size and wider hips) then VJ is for you. If you have a Hawaiian body (ipu heke: broad shoulders->hips) then start with the size up (or two). Her patterns run small.

              Re: Hawaiian Sewing Patterns

I find MOST patterns run small, but these Hawaiian ones should be relatively easy to modify.
