      Old TV slogans:

      "Drive a Youngsmobile from Oldsmobile."

      "Ford has a better idea."

      "It's a DATSUN, it's a DATSUN, D A T ... S U N"
(sung to the tune of "Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye") - from 1970.

"Give it to Mikey... He hates everything.....
He likes it, he likes it!"

"Purina Cat Chow... chow chow chow"

"Aye yai yai yai... I'm the Frito Bandito"

"Us Terryton Smokers Would Rather Fight Than Switch"

      "Come to Chevron Island"

"Western Airlines...... the only way to fly!"

"Pan Am Makes the Going Great!"

Got some old ones for you all. Bet no one remembers these.

        It's black and white.

Mother and daughter standing at the stove. Daughter says, "Mother, I'd rather do it myself!"

I think it was for some kind of over the counter pain medicine, maybe dristan, not sure.

        Doublemint, Doublemint, Doublemint Gum.

Wouldn't you really rather drive a Buick.

Let Hertz put You in the driver's seat.

I remember them all, proud to say.

            including the Exedrin spot
Please, Mother, I'd rather do it myself!

"Take a Geritol tonight and sleep....

safe and restful, sleep, sleep, sleep......"

Was played a lot on the Lawrence Welk Show.

                remember the animated bear...
"From the Land of Sky Blue Waters (Waters),
From the land of pines, lofty balsam,
                Comes the beer refreshing,
                Hamm's the Beer Refreshing".

this actually was adapted from an old poem from 1909

You know, now that I think of it, the Geritol one should probably be Sominix or something like that with the same song... forgot what Geritol's slogan was now... geez..

                      "Crammital with Geritol!"

                      nooo. I think it was

"Do you have iron-poor tired blood? You
                      need Geritol."

One of the most frustrating network promos I remember as a kid was that NBC Peacock that fanned out before a color program aired... my problem at the time, we only had black and white TV!!!!

OK. I'll take a Geritol for iron poor blood.

We had a big wood cabinet black and white Zenith. Our neighbor was the first to get color... an RCA. Way back in 1966. Was so thrilling to see "Batman" in color.

I remember the TV series on ABC... "The FBI" sponsored by Ford. Funny thing is everyone in the FBI drove the newest Ford and even the bad guys drove Fords.... so much for product placement!!!
