Well when the talk is of rapture then just being good for goodness sake isn't good enough. But for all other practical reasons being good is good enough.

Well since Rapture is a Christian thing and the Mayan calander isn't, I can't believe the two can be related. And if one is Athiest, then how can one believe any of this will in fact happen? Right now with these two mindsets firmly implanted in those who believe it, the survival of mankind rests soley on the belief that Athiesism is correct.

I've been approached by those who are Jehova's Witnesses. They are proclaiming the end is near. I tell them if we knew that we'd be God. They laugh at me. I asked them, "didn't your religion proclaim the same ending when Haley's comet visited us?" His answer, "we keep updating ourselves and not get locked up in old doctrine". Sounds like failure to interpret the Bible accurately in my book.

Enjoy life, believe in your doctrines and let's just get along.

If you have a void in your fabric (exposing too much space), you can ask Santa for a replacement in just a couple of months (do the math).

Speaking of the Rapture, I recall reading somewhere in the Bible that only 144,000 would be saved, 12,000 each from each of the 12 Hebrew tribes.

Of course then Christianity came along and changed that....

BTW, weren't some of the tribes of Hebrews 'lost tribes?' Maybe that makes room for Christians.
