Last night I made about twice as much rice as I'd need for dinner, thinking, 'kids are home tomorrow ... they're probably going to want food ... and I'm working so I can't spend a lot of time in the kitchen.'

This morning I made flavored rice balls; a few with my favored shiso fumi furikake (the purplish stuff that gives ume and some types of pickled vegetables its purple to magenta color); and the lion's share of it with nori fumi furikake, which da keeds prefer.

Mixed up some of the rice with shiso, the rest with the nori furikake ... formed musubi and it got scarfed up.

A banana and a whole wheat english muffin. Washed it down with a bottle of water.

For lunch I'm torn between veggies (carrots, celery, snow peas, broccoli and cherry tomatoes) and Fatburger's Double King Burger With Cheese. Hmmm.

Some chocolate bread from Zippy's (thanks to a fundraising neighbor). A coworker's also just brought in some kind of purple yam pastry-type thing, but I haven't gotten up the nerve to bite into it yet.

Helen (congrats on reaching 2700 posts, btw), assuming you prefer Diet Pepsi over the leaded kind, what do you think about Diet Dew vs. regular?

Took the day off to be with the family before school starts. Made a quick hawaiian royale: tomato basil chicken sausages in some scrambled eggs with some veggies over rice with teri sauce. Gobbled it up!

I made Fried Rice. Fresh Mushrooms, Portugese Sausage, Bacon, Maui Onions, Green Onions, Ebi, Garlic, Black Pepper. Fry till meat is cook. Add rice. Put 1 tablespoon of Oyster Sauce on top, shoyu, green onions. Scramble egg in separate bowl and pour over rice. Turn back fire on and mix well.

Broke da Mouth!

Auntie Lynn

Note: You can add anything in Fried Rice. Fish cake, Shrimp, Ham, Spam, etc.
