Wild Ginger (Asian restaurant in Seattle)'s "Seven Element Soup" --- thin egg noodles in a coconut-curry broth, with chicken, cilantro, scallions, crispy egg noodles and a dollop of sour cream and spices on top.

Whatever you do, don't order BK's new Swiss N' Shroom Burger. The WORST Mushroom Burger I ever had. Bleck.

Plain Friday for me. S&S Saimin and Juice.

"S&S" must be an acronym for "Sustenance & more Sustenance"

I was at the bowling alley watching the keiki so I had a fast snack of seasoned curly fries and an extra large soda (Mountain Dew Code Red). I know, what a lunch!

Pomai:
What's with that Canadian seasoning I see on the Costco shelves? What the heck? I've looked at the label and see "banana" in there. Also, is it the same as "Montreal" seasoning? If they are so special why don't steak houses emphasize or offer these flavorings.
Mouth watering minds wanna know!

Glad you asked!

Ever try the $6.50 BBQ Steak plate they sell at Foodland Koko Marina every Thursday? I asked the guy grilling what the seasoning was and all he said was "secret". Wouldn't budge!

So I seen that Grill Mates Montreal Seasoning in Costco (what I mistakenly called Canadian seasoning earlier). Thought, hmmmm, I wonder? So picked it up and gave it a try.

Sure enough... that's the one! If not the same, BETTER than Foodlands! In fact, some friends have said the steaks I served them with it was better than Ruth's Chris. Wow.

Pick up a good cut of steaks such as rib eyes, brush some Extra Virgin Olive Oil on 'em, then simply season 'em liberally with the Montreal Seasoning. No need chop garlic or add salt and pepper or anything. Just give the Montreal a shake! You can also add a little Shoyu for that local touch. Grill on HOT coals to desired doneness (medium rare preferably). You can broil or sautee them, but GRILLING is the best.

So easy!

Trust me, the $6.00 spent on that huge bottle of seasoning will go a long way and make the steaks eaters in your home craving more. (the one shown in the link is the smaller consumer size)

So good you won't even need sauce. Still, I gotta' have my A-1!

But sshhhhhh. don't tell too anyone the secret!
