  • A new teri-burger

Not wanting to wait for kalbi ribs to broil, I made burger patties using the extra marinade, a Halms product called... BAR-B-QUE SAUCE (Hawaiian style), came out different and great, if you like syrupy burgers. Has MSG tho..., but is mostly seasame seeds/oil, chilis, garlic, red and sticky.

So happened to make me a fried spam sandwich and decided to use the sauce so I poured a little just before removing from the frying pan..hmmm, tasted good..with plain lettuce on wheat..I'd do it again...

I liked the teri-burger at Orange Julius. Is Orange Julius still around?

I agree. The burgers at Orange Julius were surprisingly good. But that was a long time ago (in the 90s?), before the advent of the designer burgers (i.e. Teddy’s Bigger Burger, Kua ‘Aina, etc.). I can only speak about the Ala Moana Orange Julius, when they were located near where Goma Tei Ramen is now. Orange Julius later moved nearer to the food court, and when they did that, they stopped offering burgers. And then they were taken over by Dairy Queen, so now it’s Dairy Queen-Orange Julius. No burgers.

Rechecked mine, it has. The label is red, white, and green, w/black print, on a platic bottle with an equal sized white lid. Is your's a red gooquid with sesame seeds?

well, yes...it's the Halm's 64 oz semi rectangular plastic bottle...wording is slightly different in that it says "Hawaiian Bar-B-Que Sauce'...if that matters ...and at the top/left of the front label in white it states 'NO MSG ADDED'.

Hmmm, maybe we've purchased the same product at a transition point of now having no MSG, or at least I'm hoping, except that maybe you have something different that I'd like, and with differing containers...
