Unhappy Old Age - forgot pin code for gas card

I have a local company gas card...two fills ups ago I suddenly forgot my pin code as I was inserting my gas nozzle into my tank...tried 2x with codes I thought...no luck...I felt if I tried a third time, it would go on permanent lock.

this evening, I try again...thinking yup, I know my pin code...ooops after my 1st attempt tonight, it says ' go see the cashier' . Too embarrassed, so I buy gas with my regular debit card.

my question is: do you think it is NOW locked since I failed 3x to put in my correct code? What good will it be to see the cashier? Will they be laughing (lol!) or embarrassing me with the number of other people behind me...or would they give me a new code if I provide some type of identification ???

you can only know by finding out, you certainly aren't the first to be in a predicament and maybe they have something online for rectifying such issues.
