Left over hamburger steak, brown rice and corn. Not bad... cheaper than buying a plate lunch.

Subway - Spicy Italian 6", Cheetos, Dr. Pepper - too rainy/windy to go far from the office for anything more "complex."

Very nice big house salad with mixed yuppie greens, cannelini beans and some kind of rosemary vinegrette, a Ciro pizza (thin crust, fresh tomato sauce, prosciuto, parmesan grana, mushrooms, basil, fresh mozzarella), and half a cannoli for dessert from Tutta Bella.

Thumbs up Re: What's for lunch - Chapter 10

Went back to Zen Sushi at 1111 Bishop Street, site of Scrivener's recent downtown lunch. I had the teriyaki donburi (teri beef and mushrooms, egg on rice, topped with kamaboko and furikake) and miso soup for $5.

This week is the official grand opening, which meant a free gift: a piggybank to commemorate the Year or the Golden Pig... apparently a special year in the Chinese zodiac that comes around every 600 years. Included a $1 rebate in quarters.

So, a Korean guy taking on Japanese cuisine, celebrating a Chinese tradition. I love Hawaii!

Well done, Ryan.
As for my lunch, it was a KFC Famous Bowl. Ergo, a haole guy, eating haole cuisine, celebrating a haole tradition.

Two slices of Papa John's chicken and mushroom pizza. Sometimes, you just have to have a couple of slices of pizza.

Lunch during a work meeting: a personal pizza from a nearby deli, with bacon bits, blue cheese, and red onion.

Went to Ward Stadium 16 Theatres for a mid-day showing of "Happy Feet." We thought it was an 11:30 a.m. movie, but it was 12:15, so we headed downstairs for lunch. There were 40 minute waits at Bucca di Beppo and Big City Diner, so we went into Wolfgang Puck's instead.

I don't recall being very impressed before, but I liked what we ate today... fresh baked pepperoni and mushroom pizzas. Nicely sized, crisp and tasty. The kids loved watching the guy toss the dough and spread the pesto sauce (instead of tomato sauce), and my daughter loved dipping the crust in olive oil more than the pizza itself.

A better choice, possibly, than the hotdogs and nuclear nachos I was planning on eating... for about the same price!
