Default No porn sites = no virus?

A friend's IT swears if you stay off the porno sites that you'll never get a virus attack. True?

Kinda kills the entire reason I got a laptop for...

Sites with illegal music or software downloads are also teeming with viruses.

I know lots of people who don't surf porn sites that get viruses. Our administrative assistant here at work is an older lady who is afraid of computers and she's gotten a virus on her work PC. I blame the online games that she plays on her downtime.

Youtube is another source for viruses. Instant Messaging is another source for viruses. Email with attachments is another source for viruses.

Viruses can be embedded within Jpeg images, MP3 files, virtually anywhere. The best one is the one that pops up in your system tray telling you your antivirus has found a virus..."Click here to remove" and whamo, you're infected.

It is NOT true that you only get viruses from porn sites. I have had the "fake virus scan" from three different sites (none porn!): while searching for art supplies (it was a link that looked like an online art store), from researching a garden plant (it popped up while I was on a garden website), and one other time that I was surfing the net for online news. Each time I was on a different computer.

The first time I had to install a virus-kill program specific to that virus. It would not allow me to exit out. Luckily, the next two times I simply exited out without problems.

We had it pop up from a Honolulu Advertiser blog site not that long ago.

I think it must be true, since I've never gotten a virus attack.

I guess that guys who go on porn sites would be cautious and probably spot a suspicious virus site.

That's good to know.

Though I find porns for women [viewers] tend to be very slow. But they have good [fantasy] storylines.

At my age, the best porn sites are those showing granny taking her false teeth out!

There might be some sites popping up with sex tapes of Carrie Prejean. Those sites are probably going to be infected with viruses. I'm going to wait till they become evaculated and then go on when it's safe.

The bad thing about this is that you'd end up watching a sex tape of Carrie Prejean...

Is that a word? Or just one letter away from being scientifically obscene?

Yes to all the above.

I came home from a double shift Thursday morning. I just wanted to check emails and den go moemoe. I saw an interesting one. "What a lovely smile you have in the You Tube." I wondered which it was and so I clicked it. It took to me to a place and all I could see was a my screen and sounds as if crunching away. I knew in an instant it was a VIRUS. I turned my computer off and stared at it. Tears rolled down from my face. It didn't end there.

Nope. Back on the I computer went.

On the screen, PC Cleaner it said. For $ 49.95 it would take out the nasty spyware and viruses. I gave my name and information. It was the MAIN VIRUS.

The next day, our house got robbed.

Das ok. I got a roof ova my head, a job, food foa kaukau and soon even if we're late dis year, we're going to launch The Slippah Foundation 2009 for the Keiki!

Happy Holidays One and All!!
