  • Local TV spot verbiage/meaning

My teenaged daughter, who I'm proud to say shares my slightly twisted and cynical view of certain aspects of this life, just observed that a TV commercial for a cab company says they take you "from point A to point B."
The way it struck her was, "Yeah, but what if you want to go to point C, or D ... or Z?"

Clearly the company wasn't trying to demean itself by saying they don't actually take you where you want to go, but GOSH I'm proud of my daughter for her critical -- if somewhat offbeat -- thinking!

    It made ME laugh, anyway.

Yeah! And the EBus is no more, too! What do you do? I think you have a study and conduct press conferences.

Hmmm...sounds like my family's offbeat sense of humor! Might your daughter, when asked her destination by that cab's driver in a real situation, answer, "Point B, please."...with a straight face?!

As we all know, the shortest distance between two points is always under construction.
