Talking What are you doing TONIGHT?

Hi! While I love reading and posting, I also love listening to live music and chatting in person; which begs the question: What are you doing tonight?

Anyone have Facebook and/or is willing to meet up as a group? facebook.com/jmclgv

Well it's my birthday. I'm in Minnesota, tonight will be a dinner with family
and their close friends here part of the "events" for my father in law's memorial service tomorrow afternoon. A strange time to be sure.

I'll be praying it doesn't rain on town side like it has been over in Waikane/Ka'a'awa. One lady sed there was 4' of water in her yard. Probably was Ka'a'awa, where the many years of new homeowners have too often removed the long standing drainage routes and now most everybody eats it when it rains heavy.

If you're interested in local meetups, there is quite a large community of Hawaii people on Twitter and they're always arranging to get together for dinner and events (usually called Tweet-Ups). Looks like there's a bacon tweetup this weekend: http://twtvite.com/phet1u
Plus, with the new lists feature it's easy to find local tweeters.

Make a tonic of raw garlic, ginger, honey and organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Use lots of each, except use the honey in moderation. We don't want you climbing on the walls. You can put in a few chili peppers too if you want. Shake it up real good, and bon appetite. The peppers help to increase your circulation, along with the ginger. Then, you can take vitamins C, D, and zinc.

But if you take it, [eople will be running from you, screaming incoherent things from the odor. So you might as well stay home and get some rest. If you start to grow hair on your chest, hey, don't look at me...

Nah, seriously, the above will help.

Sincerely,
Dr. Zorba

Top Secret!
But for you-all....

Catching up on HT,
eating left-overs,
watching L&O (if it's on)
meditating as long as I can get away with with a family,
thinking about seeds for Susie and clippings for another HT'er, (tomorrow!),
Feeding the beasts just before bed so they will hopefully let me sleep through the night.
BEASTS:
Jack: N-male, feline, tabby, feline, single eye, old but good health,
Hina: N-female, feline, gray, insider, pretty normal,
Olivia: N-female canine, doxie-chiuaua mix, yapper,
Evan: W-male, human, 16yrs., ill with GI, otherwise "normal".*
* See "teenager reference"

Something else I forgot....

Then sleep, blessed sleep, unless a prowler steps on a twig outside my bedroom window, in which case see the appropriate thread. RE: home defense/guns.

I know this thread is intended for "TONIGHT", but I am a slow internet poster!

Two nights ago, I went to a concert of Japanese pop, rock, and punk, the band name is ZAMZA. Those aren't my genres, but I went with some friends and I had a great time!

Last night we watched Donnie Darko. I had to watch it twice, and look it up on IMDB.com. Confusing, but so cool.

Going to a Smooth Jazz Nights concert featuring Michael Paulo, Brian Culbertson and Jessy J.

Leo...I'd love to be going with you! Do cast members have their own comedy concert on the week-ends? I'll never forget the ep with Robin Williams as a guest. Pandemonium!!!!

It's a tour, with Greg Proops, Ryan Stiles (who lives up here), Chip Esten & Jeff Davis. They were joined last night by a special guest, however - a man with whom they have all worked, and who is part-owner of the Seattle Sounders FC (soccer team). The Sounders are in playoffs this weekend, so he's here for the game. I'll let you do the research to figure out this "Sunday puzzle" (nod there to NPR fans).

Tonight, it's a big slack key show - Cyril Pahinui, Dennis & David Kamakahi, Makana, Jeff Peterson, Sonny Lim, Don Kaulia, Leabert Lindsay, Kunia Galdeira & more. Skylark is the emcee, but several of us from the local Hawaiian radio show will do an opening welcome.

Drew Carey. He's great in scripted comedy, but how is he at improv comedy? I was always disappointed that he didn't participate very much in the improv on that TV show.

Many years ago when I attended the UW, we would often go watch Theatresports at a tiny theater just off campus (somewhere near Brooklyn and 42nd?). It was hilarious.

He's gotten better, but he's by far the weakest link of the ensemble. He just happens to have the most fame.

They still exist, but they've been working out of a space in Pike Place Market for quite a while now.

Oh, and as for tonight - my third yoga class. Ow. Trying to regain the flexibility I used to have back in my t`ai chi and hula past.
