Michael Moore was on Lawrence O'Donnell's Last Word show tonight, he pointed out that while the mission to eliminate Osama bin Laden was in its final planning stages was exactly the time frame that the Congressional Republicans were threatening to shut down the government. Petulantly. It would have probably shut down the mission. It was also when they were petulantly screaming for President Obama's birth certificate. How can anybody possibly be so petty, so idiotic. How could anybody vote for such fools.

It's easy when you don't actually care at all about what you supposedly believe in, like America.

Do you actually read what you write? They couldn't have been both authorized 'to defend themselves with firepower' and 'instructed to avoid doing this at all costs'. Those are mutually exclusive orders, that is to say, the latter negates the former.

I understand: they were instructed to make extreme effort to avoid a firefight with Pakistani forces - yet authorized to defend themselves IF unable to avoid said circumstances.

Make a little effort, s'ed, and you might sometimes understand what others are saying. If you want to, that is. As you noted in another thread:

Not necessarily, it was all wink n nod anyway, to keep everybody involved from legal action of an illegal action. Nixon-esque camera minutes are missing from crucial moments of O's supposed killing.

Interesting theory; ObL was never sick and on dialysis, it was used as a cover for CIA bunglings years back.

Leo, what you understand and what Matapule wrote are both fallacies. Neither of you are in the loop, so why are you defending an uninformed opinion? The blind leading and following the blind - I'll never fail to get a few laughs from it.

So much for your take on "civility." I should have known you were joking.

He's just up to his typical trolling. He's not worth responding to. 'Nuf said.

Question Re: Bin Laden is DEAD!

Wonder what the various Terrorist factions are planning...
since nothing big has happened yet, but they haven't just gone away.

You know they want to take revenge for killing OBL.

We've been knocking off many of their top dogs lately, but they don't need reasons to be angry at everybody, they've got nothing better to do... There are so many ways to screw up parts of the US that will effect most everybody that they are either laying in waiting hibernation with big plans, incompetent, been decimated to the point of caos, getting busted, or all of the above. Hopefully thier big plans fall apart before they can inact them.

Post Re: Bin Laden is DEAD!

"Ayman al-Zawahri, the newly appointed chief of al-Qaida, lacks the charisma and operational skills of Osama bin Laden as a terror leader, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday.

But he said the selection of al-Qaida's former No. 2 to take bin Laden's place is a reminder that the terror group is still out there and must be pursued."

Really shouldn't continue underestimating any terrorist leaders. IMO

Security experts are warning Web-surfing consumers about a rise in cybercrime and scams related to Osama bin Laden's death. Major news events are often accompanied by an uptick in cybercrime, as perpetrators seek to take advantage of Web searches for content such as pictures and videos.
http://www.crime-research.org/news/04.05.2011/3868/

"Summary
Terrorist’s use of the internet and other telecommunications devices is growing both in terms of reliance for supporting organizational activities and for gaining expertise to achieve operational goals. Tighter physical and border security may also encourage terrorists and extremists to try to use other types of weapons to attack the United States. Persistent Internet and computer security vulnerabilities, which have been widely publicized, may gradually encourage terrorists to continue to enhance their computer skills, or develop alliances with criminal organizations and consider attempting a cyberattack against the U.S. critical infrastructure."
