An experiment tonight: furikake chicken, but I didn't deep fry it. Just soaked the chicken in some shoyu, mirin and garlic, and then I took the chicken out of the marinade and coated the skin side with honey and then sprinkled furikake on top and baked it. Came out ono and I didn't have to worry about deep frying and all the grease!

Cyn-made kim chee, fried rice loco moco.
The kim chee was from Queen's in Kalihi, Boca burger stood in quite nicely for the usual hamburger and the rice also had bits of marinated sliced ribeye leftovers from last night.

                  Yum.

The joy of birthday feasts, eh?

Went to a kanikapila over on Bainbridge Island (at the home of a former Honolulu resident and musician), because another musician-friend was visiting from Idaho. The host made short-rib stew.
