  • 2014 Primary Election Day

Today is the Primary Election Day in Hawaii.

In keeping with tradition, this thread is about the process of voting and your experinces in casting your ballot for today. If you already voted by absentee ballot (and I suspect this would be higher that usual due to Iselle) you can relate your experience as well too.

Voted early on Thursday at City Hall, had to wait forever to get my address updated but the rest went smooth. No line like on Monday. Can't wait for results!

Normally I would have voted today but I took Tuesday afternoon off to vote at Honolulu Hale and to get supplies afterwards.

There was a handful of people casting their vote as well, so the process went pretty fast for me.

When I left I noticed a couple of camera crews were setting up outside of Honolulu Hale.

Did Hurricane Iselle contribute to Neil Abercrombie's landslide lost or was it a foregone conclusion?

Absentee Voting Won the Day - I voted at City Hall on Tuesday to avoid possible rainstorms had the hurricanes dealt Honolulu with a direct hit.

The final printout that came out at 3:15 this morning showed:

            Total Registration - 668,778

            Total Turnout - 285,471 or 41.4%

            Precinct Turnout - 124,074 18.0%

            Absentee Turnout - 161,366 23.4%

              All counted, everywhere?

I'm surprised Schatz didn't go down with Abercrombie. I think his appointment over Hanabusa was one of the reasons people lost faith in Abercrombie.

Not sure what propelled Schatz over Hanabusa but now we'll see if he's any better, and that's a good thing.
With Neil and her out it'll be perfect if Ige becomes Gov., he might be a pleasant surprise.
