  • Kailua people are afraid of Windward Mall?

Recently I've been informed by different windward friends that Kailua people consider Windward Mall to be rowdy and dangerous. I find that rather amusing. Maybe I'm just one of the uncouth?

As why the Alpha Female's grandma and her pals (all in their 80s & 90s) hang out there; those tough old birds can be scary!

I'm terrified of being surrounded by a flock of them, in the craft store. Sewing circle of death.

Those of us who live in Kaneohe started that rumor. It keeps all the Kailua people from taking up all the parking spots.

My impression is that WW mall, like WW O`ahu is very mellow!
            Maybe too mellow for Kailuans?

I prefer to inflict my rowdy and dangerous self on the folks at Waianae Mall! Trouble is...nobody notices!

um, Kailua is on the windward side too. I imagine they are just as mellow as the rest of that side of the island.

They were, until it was announced that Target is building a new store there. Then Kailuans got a lot less mellow.

nah - they're still mellow. it just takes them awhile to adjust to change

From what I hear, many of 'em still hadn't adjusted to Daiei becoming Don Quixote, now that goes away and becomes Target. Adjustment on Hawaiian Time can sometimes be daunting, no?

Some Kailuans still refer to that store as Holiday Mart.

Actually, LL, it is Don Quijote ( used to be in Kailua, still is elsewhere)

I gotta remember to use the Japanese spelling, not the English one.
