"Get The Government Off Our Backs", a cute slogan run past focus groups to be sure it has appeal, but very obviously not a policy or a real belief. No, you ban abortions because after all no woman with her doctor is ever capable of making a correct decision about her own life. You ban gay marriage because who somebody marries is none of their business, it must be determined by churches the people don't even belong to, strangers they will never meet, and of course Big Government. And of course you ban porno because how people get their kicks, especially if it involves anything sexual, is none of their business, its only the business of irrelevant judgmental third parties and Big Government. "Get The Government Off Our Backs" is the most transparently meaningless slogan ever. It gets votes, thats all its supposed to do. God I hate Republicans, hard to believe I ever was one.

The Teapublicans run on a platform of smaller government, but they are the ones who are trying to enact onerous government regulations on irrelevant matters. The country is spiraling toward bankruptcy and the Teapublicans have their foot on the accelerator!

Its a lot like being a passenger in a car when the driver suddenly goes insane. I have never had it happen in real life but I have seen it in movies, just a nice uneventful drive then something happens that sets the driver off and there you are as a passenger being hurtled along a mountain road at breakneck speed...like the way the gvt is operating right now. It is insane. And back briefly to slogans. Carl Rove (or was it Karl), "bush's brain", said several years ago that deficits are irrelevant. That was what Republicans believed when they started 2 needless and expensive wars, did the senior drug benefit without benefit of bargaining for price like the VA can, and of course those tax breaks for billionaires. So cutting the deficit NOW is merely a show, a political show, it has no meaning in real life, its just a political strategy, because if they had ever actually cared about deficits they would not have ever bankrupted the economy. It is so clear. You just find out in focus groups what will motivate people to vote your way, then you say it. It has even less meaning than insurance company ads because sometimes insurance companies actually do pay off in real life, but giving the social security trust fund to campaign contributors on Wall St. would do zero to solve the deficit: ssi does not contribute to the deficit, neither does medicare. ITS THE TAX BREAKS FOR THE BILLIONAIRES AND PAYING FOR THE NEEDLESS WARS, bush & the Republicans locked us into paying for the wars (remember how "unpatriotic" it was to bring that up under bush, when we went in to steal Iraq's oil?) and the tax breaks for billionaires are sacred, they cannot be touched. So everything else on reducing the deficit is useless. Like fixing a bad radiator by changing the spark plugs. Its just show, just fluff. Obama should call BS on them. Actually he should declare martial law, dissolve congress and arrest them and the supreme ct. When the economy collapses, somebody will have to do that. Might as well get it over now before much more damage is done.

I don't wanna be to hard on her, but she is blowing up the wrong tree. Her battle is long and hard, lets hope it doesn't blow up in her face. I am sure she would never see it coming.
