    Well, according to "her" (Kilauea's) MySpace page (!):
    Since the eruption began at the Pu`u O`o vent on January 3, 1983 the lava flows have been prolific. Each day 300,000 to 1,000,000 cubic yards of lava erupts. Kilauea and Pele have taken 189 homes, 8 miles of public highways and 40 square miles of land since 1983. They have also given 575 new acres of land and enough lava (average temperature 2000 degrees) to fill over 200 million dump trucks.

      I have also been taught that it's about 600 acres of new land, out on the coastline, above the water level.
