When I was a kid, every Sunday my family used to go to Bellows and stop at a sausage store in Kailua (Gouveia?) and then drive home over the Pali! Nothing ever happened to us....but it wasn't after midnight, either.
Would you guys actually stop your car and eat your pork before going over...?
Or has anybody ever gone after midnight (like as a teenager) on a dare?

We Kalua pig at my parent's place often (we're doing one this coming friday) and I often take pig back to Makiki from Kahalu'u but I'm cognizant about the legend. I think legend has it that the pig has to be raw and these occurences happen only at certain times of night.
