    Re: Virginia Tech shootings!

Wow! Modpirate!!! Thanks foa sharing the story. I never knew. Interesting. The end said it all..."CRIMINALS ARE MADE, NOT BORN. A total of 38 children were killed, 7 teachers died and 61 others were severely injured. It was the worst school violence in our nation's history."

So what??? All that proves is that mass murderers can be of any nationality or ethnicity.

Not sure I get what Kam's point was either. Is he suggesting that Asians are more likely to be mass murderers than other ethnicities? Any statistics that would support or refute that theory?

I wonder if this will be attributed to video games too.
Do they ever note an extensive collection of horror movies, porn, or anything else other then videogames?
Dr. Phil and Jack Thompson have started the blame game

I am pro-gun but I feel a legal permanent U.S. resident (immigrant) should not be allowed to own or possess firearms in the US. That is just not right.

The funny part is he filed off the serial numbers of the weapons used....

On what grounds? That citizens born on U.S. soil are intuitively more mentally stable and trustworthy?

I think my head may now explode after spinning around like beeteljuice!

I know it would be IMPOSSIBLE for criminals to gain access to guns if they were not "allowed" to have them!
They are criminals...it is their JOB to gain access to ILLEGAL items!!! Who cares if they are US immigrants or not??
                  Crazy is crazy....criminal is criminal....etc...

                  Blame game....utterly uncalled for...too soon...too soon.

That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever read on HT!

But the U.S. Resident (immigrant) can go to War and can get injured or killed? No make sense, eh?

                      And there it is.

I am sure we all knew that the blame game would start, just like after the Columbine shooting. it is hard for people to accept that some people are just screwed up, and don't value life, theirs or others.

                            Re: Virginia Tech shootings!

Here is a country that bans private ownership of guns yet someone still gets gunned down. A criminal will always figure a way out to get his/her hands on a weapon. I think there is plenty of room for reforming gun control laws but an outright ban doesn't necessarily mean the problem will be resolved. Kinda reminds me of the Simpson episode where they banned and destroyed all guns and the dead rose from their graves to take over the town with their guns.

I can tune out the debate about gun control and y'all can go back and forth about it till your heads fall off for all care.

Because you know what? All that is irrelevant when you see pictures and read the stories about the victims. I had a hard time reading about the first 8 they released, and I don't know if I can handle the remaining 24.

So please, if you're going to argue about gun control and whether or not immigrants should be allowed to possess weapons, start a new thread? THX.
