What's Up With Google?

Anyone know what's happening with Google? This morning I do a simple search and all results seem to have a warning "This site may harm your computer". I checked for legit sites and the same warning shows up.

When I click on the site name it goes to a page that says:

"Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!"

Suggestions:

* Return to the previous page and pick another result.
* Try another search to find what you're looking for.

Is Google undergoing some kind of maintenance, has it been hacked, or did it catch a virus or what?

My GOOGLE is working fine.

It is possible you:

1. Have a virus infection
or
2. Have an overactive security software problem. Maybe you need to tweek your settings.

I doubt I have a virus. I'm using a Mac.

Strange... now it seems to be working normally.

I have the same issue, currently. It's telling me that every site searched for may be unsafe. I believe the particular sites highlighted by google on my end to be quite safe, so I'm ignoring the warning.

I got that, too, Mel. And yes, also on a mac, but a good friend is on a Dell and she fb-ed that she suspected google has been hacked.

It's more likely that google was hacked but I heard Macs are getting viruses more often these days, too.

Google taking security a little too seriously?

It looks like Google is marking all of its search results with the warning "This site may harm your computer."

If you click on a Google result link in spite of the warning, you get an interstitial page with an additional warning: "Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!"

...

The server(s) that hosts that page seems to be getting hammered right now. No surprise. So is StopBadware.org, a site Google refers its users to for more information.

There is nothing wrong with my Mac.

I never had this issue with Google until today.... I saw that message, and it said Malware was trying to attack, or something to that effect. I hurriedly backed out of it, as if my speed in doing so would nullify the danger, lol!

This afternoon, no more problems, of course, I'm also at a different IP now. What the heck? It's always something. When I bought and installed Norton Anti-virus Security Edition, I couldn't even get on my usual websites. Then I tried to remove it, and it wouldn't let me. How much protection is too much, or not enough, and now Google? Is nothing sacred?
