I thought aircraft carrier submarines were something from science fiction novels but it turns out that the Japanese built a couple of these ships at the end of World War II but never got to use them due to it was at the end of the war. Eventually they ended up in Pearl Harbor and due to the politics of the times they were sunk off Barbers Point only to be found by the UH submersibles on test drives.
