  • Gingrich torpedoed

His former wife claims Calista doesn't care what he does, concerning an open relationship while married! http://news.yahoo.com/exclusive-ging...-abc-news.html

With Newt, Perry, and Paul now out of contention, and Romney's never-ending implosions, it makes you wonder how the GOP can carry the show for 9+ more months.

why do you say that Newt is out of contention? He's still very much in the race as far as he is concerned (and others like Perry & Palin who are endorsing him).

And he's closing in on Romney in SC.

Ex wife says Newt's not moral enough to be President.
That and the rest of his own foibles should count him out.

But the whole GOP circus would be hilarious if it wasn't sooo scary.

My opinion and that of many is that none would make a good President and that none can truly be counted out of this race.
Republican voters will rally around whomever the nominee is, to try and oust Barak at all costs.
Life is either an adventure... or you're not doing it right!!!

Newt is the man. He absolutely reigns supreme at the moment having took the attack only to parry by smashing it out of the park with bases loaded. If he rides the hate wave accross America it could be a game changer.

His victory makes a truly horrible statement about the people of So. Carolina, at least the Republicans. What a horrible culture. Truly, Lincoln should have let the south go.

Not only are both Newt and Paul both still in contention, Gingrich likely has momentum as the leading contender coming out of South Carolina. It’s important to remember that Romney’s apparent razor-thin win in Iowa was nullified after the final count revealed that Rick Santorum actually BEAT Romney in that state. If there’s one sure bet is that if Ron Whitfield makes a political prediction, the opposite will come true. I realize now that apparently when Ron was talking about a certain “Ron” being a “perpetual loser,” Whitfield was actually talking about himself. Pardon my error.

Gingrich: S.C. ‘decided to be with us in changing Washington’
                By CNN Political Unit
updated 10:11 PM EST, Sat January 21, 2012

With about 95% of polling places reporting, Gingrich had 40% of the vote, with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney getting 27% and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum getting 17%. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas had 13%. Based on early returns and exit polls, CNN projected Gingrich the winner.

This is the first time since 1980 that three different GOP candidates won nominating contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. The winner of the South Carolina primary, which this year is the third contest on the primary and caucus calendar, has gone on to win the Republican nomination in every election since 1980.

We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans.

There will be limited votes available to Newt beyond the 'gotta beat Obama at any cost' crowd, and Obama can probably take the popular vote easily, with or without Newt blowing himself up with scandals. Got to give Newt credit, he could parley this moment into Reagan-esque proportions, but like any Gingrich skyrocket, the higher the climb the bigger the burn.

These politicians seem to be painting their way into a very narrrow corridor.

Though we like to think that way when it comes to elections, the reality is that "moral" and "politician" do not go together.
