Re: Aq Pilots Call Banmillers Bluff

I really really hope the AQ pilots and ALPA don't have to cave in the way the NWA pilots just did by agreeing to a temporary 23.9% pay cut while negotiations continue. In all, NWA management wants all union employees to take a 60% pay cut in order to stop it from going to the feds and requesting that it be allowed to discontinue all current contracts. Once tactics like this develop into a trend, it will mark the rapid acceleration of the decline of the American middle class as we know it...it's happening in the airline industry (which is basically a service industry) and in the automobile industry (manufacturing). Both segments have long been considered the backbone of America's economic strength.

Re: Aq Pilots Call Banmillers Bluff

What the Northwest Pilots have just got is a "TA" or tentative agreement. The membership of the NWA pilots now get to vote on the TA. It is not approved until the membership approves it.

A TA will likely be announced for the Aloha Pilots to vote on. It will probably SUCK also but this is why we get to vote on it.

The leader of our national union ALPA is a Northwest Captain. I honestly expected more from them. Delta immediately formed a STRIKE commitee when an 1113c was filed on them recently.
