You can make up anything. Lets give it a try! GW Bush was born on Uranus. There aren't many astronomy jokes, and Uranus is often the butt of the few there are. Sorry, I can't even pretend to take this topic seriously any more.

What, you mean to tell me that this ever was a serious topic? All this time, I thought Bobinator was presenting a unique interactive comedy performance. I'm not convinced otherwise, to be honest.

I must confess, Kalalau, I don't recall where on the web I found it - and I know it doesn't show up on everyone's versions of HT. I'm glad you could see it, however. My alpha female is fluent in Nihongo, I understand a small amount.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, I saw a documentary about Pluto the other night! When the Natural Museum of Science (or some important museum) took Pluto off its huge display of hanging planets, kids across the country sent outraged letters and asked why the museum hated Pluto. Hmm, maybe there is a connection after all?

We took Japanese 1 at night school with the book "Learn Japanese, New College Text" (Young & Nakajima-Okano) about 20 years ago from Mrs. Honda, originally from Honolulu. She was fun, she smoked, she liked a drink or two, and she took the class to Little Tokyo in downtown LA for the Japanese cultural festival. She said that when she visited Japan people could recognize that she was not from Japan within a few seconds from her speech. When time for year 2 came, there weren't enough students, so we did year 1 again, and the same thing happened the next year, so we got year 1 well drilled into our heads. It was enjoyable to learn what we could.

I met an 80+ year old man in Vancouver, a retired doctor, who helped China set up its health care system back in the '50's, he was fluent in Chinese, Mandarin I guess. Chinese seems like the most awesomely impossible language you could ever try to learn, but I guess it can be done, people like the Vancouver fellow do it.

But deep down, what do you really believe?

You don't have to be convinced. You just have to use your brain. Try being honest with yourself for once and present a viable explanation to the mysteries surrounding this clown we call President.

I bet you can't even tell me who or what he is, or where he came from without any solid evidence.

"W" may very well have come from a neighboring planet, but that means "O" came from Planet X, cuz nobody can really explain it.

Icelandic is supposed to be one of the hardest languages to master. (Chinese looks pretty difficult too, but all languages are hard for me. Except Hawaiian, for some reason. I think that's a sign I'm supposed to live there) My husband has to make business trips to Iceland about once a quarter for the next few years. I can't wait to see how the few polite words he'll have to learn will sound with his Texas accent!

With much practice, I learned how to say the name of that volcano that was in the news for a while - so I could teach it to all our news readers.

Whenever I see how the right has demonized President Obama I always remember how they did the same thing against President and Mrs. Clinton. Obama, the Kenyan Marxist socialist, the worst president ever, yeah right, and Mrs. Clinton was Evita Peron reincarnated. Now all the garbage against the Clintons is conveniently forgotten, in Ron Zeigler's terms, "those statements are no longer operative." The created vicious lies, the slander, has served its purpose, we can move on now, you were right to believe it when we said it but now we have new lies for you. So "1984". So the miserable smears against President Obama will serve their purpose, maybe throwing enough votes the Republicans way that we can get another Republican congress which will occupy our elected President's time answering subpoenas about his birth certificate and other imaginary issues.
