  • Honolulu Weekly Folds

    It's a tough time for print media everywhere. Even tougher for the small publications... who at some point have to remain in the black and hopefully turn a profit. Alas expenses were overwhelming for Honolulu Weekly and they are now shutting down after 23 years.

    only 23 years? I thought they were in existence when I worked in downtown in 1981... or was that another publication? it was free and available at downtown newsstands...

          So sad to see them shut down.

          One of the highlights of my week was waiting to find a box with copies of the Weekly every Wednesday - the Temple Valley box got emptied so quickly that I couldn't rely on it.
