    That article was written by HT's Creative-1. I don't remember KDI either even tho' I visited Waikiki several times during the '60s. I love the concept of drive-ins; the trays braced against the car doors, sitting on the bench style, front car seats next to my boyfriend du jour spilling food all over the place, root beer floats, french fries, fun...

      Yes, old Detroit metal and the wide open spaces provided wherein were cause for a lot of fun, I don't know how or even if it's done in the micro spaces of today's rides. Eating that is, food that is... I miss the old drive-in's, it's just doesn't feel like America without them, but then I don't recognize much at all of America any more. Lucky we live in what's LEFT of Hawaii!

        I remember going to KDI with the family as a kid and also going there during my high school years. We also frequented KC Drive In a couple of blocks away for their Peanut Butter Shakes, they also had carhops. Another drive in with carhops was Alex's Drive In an Kapahulu.
