LOL. You can get them at any fast food place that sells loco mocos. I agree, it's a heart stopper special but it tastes so good.

Haha Blue, sounds local kine to me. We love our gravy as well. I have a feeling I'd get along fine when it comes to food in the south.
I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.

A long time ago, gravy burgers were served at the old KK's Place located first on Kilauea Ave. next to the old Savemore Market (now a hardware store) across the old Kaiko'o Mall. KK's then moved toward the downtown area on Kilauea Ave. across the old Food Fair Supermarket. It then relocated to the Waiakea Town area on Kam Ave. and was re-named KK-Tei, but I don't know if the gravy burger was still offered.

KK-Tei is now named the FIREHOUSE.

I can't say anything. I make the creamy pepper gravy with sausages. And the chicken gravy and even ham gravy.
My husband didn't eat gravy at all until he met me.

You can always go to a place that serves burgers and loco moco's and ask for a cheeseburger with a side of gravy and put it on yourself. You may get a few odd looks but it works.

Funny, one of my fave things to order at a few of the local diners here in LA is a Mushroom/swiss Turkey burger.... I always ask for brown gravy on the side and put it on the burger.

Growing up East Coast, a big thing back there was dippin the fries in gravy....so I just out it on the burger now too.

                        Yummy!

I wondered where that came from?! I like Dairy Queen's chicken basket because they have country gravy with the fries.

I've had them, but only on the Big Island. Actually, I don't think I ever had a gravy CHEESEburger, but I did have more than my fair share of gravyburgers. Every plate-lunch take-out place has them on the menu. They basically dip the hamburger in gravy before putting it on your bun and wrapping it. I don't remember seeing gravy cheeseburgers there, but that doesn't mean they didn't have them. I was poor, and the cost of two gravyburgers was small; two gravy cheeseburgers might have been out of my range.

Anyone who knows Hilo: Across the street from Ando Store was a take-out place that sold gravyburgers for super-cheap. What was the name of that place? I used to work at Ando Store and would stop there on my way to work to grab that day's lunch: Usually two gravyburgers.
