Aaah. The end-of-pay-period special. I get that all the time, except without the drink. It's not so sad. You pay $2.08 for decent fast food that fills you up.

I skipped lunch today because I was working on the yearbook, but I hit the drive-through at Taco Bell for a 7-Layer Burrito and a grilled, stuffed, chicken enchilada burrito. That will probably end up being lunch, as I'm sure I'll find something to eat later and call that dinner.

And a huge glass of ice water.

You got it, my paycheck-to-paycheck brother. I'm usually pretty good about budgeting myself from one check to the next, but when payroll's off, my arteries always pay the price.
      Don't be mean,

Ask him, the next time you see him, how long it took for the sound of the Carpenters to stop bouncing around in his head.

I went to Panda Express. Orange chicken and chicken with string beans with half chow mein, half steamed rice. And a Diet Pepsi.

Trust me, scrivener --- it never stops...no matter how much Imogen Heap she listens to.

                Re: What's for lunch - Chapter 10

My wife and youngest son came downtown to join me and Gail of HawaiiDiner.com for lunch at Brasserie Du Vin, the latest brainchild of Dave Stewart (behind Indigo and Bar 35). What an incredibly charming place, and of course the food is pretty good too. The wine list is huge, but we didn't go there, unfortunately.

We opened with the pomme frites (french fries), then shared dijon chicken with greek olives, grilled andouille sausage risotto, and a soft shell crab panini. For dessert, creme brulee. Yum yum yum! But you really have to visit if only for the little touches, the decor... the sunny French courtyard, the quaint private room in back, the copper-topped bar...

Wow Ryan! Pix from Du Vin look great...I've been wanting to check out that place for some time now.

My lunch consisted of NZ Corned Beef Cabbage/Onions and rice.

McDonald's. Sorry. Wasn't in the mood to actually make food decisions today, so that's the easiest option.
