How nice! We looked at houses there and the realtor of a listing said "they
are not the kind of people suitable for this neighborhood" Well thank god!
We found a fabulous house in a more friendly neighborhood!

I can't imagine that will get any better regardless of his location.

What do you expect? He's been elected "the next leader of the free world" - not really a position that can insist on a lot of privacy. But they'd better give him a little respect while he's mourning his Tutu.

                What's he doing now?

Honestly, some in the public and media have no brains to show any decency or restraint, as tho they couldn't have appreciated and learned from his last time here when he hoped to get a walk and last glimpse of his old neighborhood in before that became impossible, which lasted one minute before he had to be hussled away from the crowd that noticed him and immediately swarmed.

I hope he doesn't end up regretting his choice to serve as president, and that would be greatly helped if at least those here in Hawaii had sense to back off his butt.

Why? What's wrong with Kalihi or Waipahu?

I had no idea *he had all a that* (brooklyn accent) under his shirt and tie - and than some too.

It ain't gonna happen, not in Hawai`i, not anywhere he goes. The guy's more than a politician right now; to many people, he's the Second Coming of Kennedy - a god who will deliver us from the hellish depths of every problem this country suffers. People are drawn to him, and they see this as the only time they may get to see him in the flesh (that's for you, Susie!) before he gets eaten up and tarnished by the Washington political machine.

Wish it all you like, folks - but don't bother being surprised or offended that he doesn't get any privacy these days. He's soon gonna be the f-ing American President, people, in an historic fashion! He knew the job was dangerous when he ran for it.

Is the Inaugural at 7am Hawaii time, so people are getting together at that time for a party or something? I just got back from DC and saw all of the preparations at both the White House and Capital.

                              Here's the information:

"The Democratic Party of Hawaii will host the local Inaugural Gala for Barack Obama at the iconic Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the historic Monarch Room. This will be the very first event held at the Royal Hawaiian as it emerges from a multi-million dollar renovation."
