  • Biscuit vs dinner roll

Inspired by this thread it seems that a poll is in order. For the poll it doesn't matter who makes it or where you buy it from or you make it from scratch or you eat it plain or with butter or dip it in gravy. It's just an eating preference poll. Also the poll allows for multiple choice (for those who prefer both) and it is anonymous.

Although either is fine with me, when we have "bread" with a meal, it is usually a tortilla and in second place, french bread with garlic and butter.

I like the biscuits that are made at a bakery where you can eat it plain.

I think there is a bit more involved in just biscuit v roll. It depends on what you are eating. sometimes a biscuit is appropriate (red beans & rice, chicken & dumplings, an american beef stew), sometimes a roll is preferable (mashed potatoes & gravy, a roast beef, turkey dinner, ham dinner), and sometimes a good cornbread is the only thing that will do.

          OOOH yeah...cornbread! That's the ticket!

          Dinner roll, not so much.

My favorite biscuit is hot with butter and jelly. Gravy is good, too.

BISCUIT, baby! Warm from the oven, slathered with butter & honey... food of the gods!

I make enough bad Yankee cooking decisions down here, so I gotta say biscuit!

I've got to agree with Susie - I would take a baguette over the other choices!

I voted biscuit. But actually, I prefer a freshly baked roll that's crusty on the outside and warm and chewy on the inside. Oh, with butter, please! I don't care for that soft bread type roll... ick.
