Soon to close on July 5, 2015:
"Kenny's in the Kam Shopping Center in Kalihi".
I have not eaten there in.... over 15 years I'm sure. But it was sure the place to go in the early 70's when coming into town from the country.
Now run along and play, but don’t get into trouble.

Another one bites the dust. I used to go there a lot, but that was in the 60s and early 70s. I'm sure that's true for a lot of folks. Just another reminder that nothing lasts forever.

Haven't been there in a while, but used to go more often when we lived in town. Definitely a local landmark, after 49 years. On the other hand, I totally appreciate all the blood, sweat, and tears the owner has put into the place, and understand the need to hang up the apron and live a quieter life.

It's often said it's a shame that "the next generation" doesn't step in and take over and carry the banner forward... but I also think that a lot of these old-school businesses were built by people who wanted to give their children a better and different future than running an old restaurant, department store, and so on.

For as long as Kenny's stuck around, I'm grateful!

Thanx for less than nothing rail boonedoggle lovers! Losing how many establishments and newly unemployed workers will it take for you to even slow down your happy dance with this rail scam being rammed down our throats? Think about it ten years from now when you're still in commuter gridlock hell.
