Re: Where to go for Restaurants

The last time I went to Outback, '95 - by the Ilikai, they used real plates, real glasses, and silverware, but it all was covered in botullic slime. I would have preferred disposable styro and plastic, should I have maintained an appetite. Never went back to risk my health, just as well, they of course no longer even used the salad dressing I loved. Nothing there for me.

          Panda Express: http://www.pandaexpress.com/

Hubby & I sometimes like to go to the one in 1505 South King, & their Ph.# 947-6891. We like that area, because its big, has good parking, & has A.C. inside .

Ohh, one thing, after you get your receipt, go to their website, & fill out the comments/opinion site, & retrieve a #, & you will receive a free entree. I was told that, you can use that anytime you go back to that same Panda Express address you went to last.

I think they do that to all Panda restaurants.

            Here's one I don't think I mentioned...

            The old Spaghetti Factory: http://www.osf.com/index.html

Their prices are pretty descent .

I think they have a pdf menu, but its only for lunch (for Hawaii), & they don't have a dinner menu posted up, so I guess if you want dinner there, you have to go there & look at the dinner menu in person.

Re: Where to go for Restaurants

Her's another restaurant that we like to go to (sometimes):

              Max's of Manila: http://www.maxschicken.com/index.php?

              Menu: http://www.maxschicken.com/index.php?/menus

My hubby & I like to order; sizzling tofu, ubod salad, & their chicken adobo (if you order brown rice, they will usually give you 3 scoops), usually, by then, we are too full to have any dessert, they do have a lot of good dessert , for dessert, my fave would be that purple yam (ube), Leche Flan, or their Halo Halo special. .

we like to go to the one in 801 Dillingham blvd. Ph. # 599-5034

I am totally disappointed with the owner & the establishment (The Manoa Road Bankok Chef)!!. For the LONGEST TIME they were using real plates there, NOW, they switched over to a round Styrofoam plates!!! WTF!!

YES!!, it may be cheaper in the long run for them, BUT health wise, NO!!

That was the whole purpose of us consumers going there is to not eat with & on Styrofoam!!.

That was the ONLY place I liked going in compared to the Nuuanu Bankok Chef, NOW those 2 are pretty much the same!!.

GOING ON THE CHEAP & NOT thinking of other people's heath.

                WHAT~EVER!!.

I think that by buying the plates, they are wasting their money, as oppose to just washing the plates & the utensil.

By the way, they also switched over to plastic utensils!!.

I ate there once, quite a while ago. Maybe it's good, now, but what I got was a cold salad, which might have been okay, of it hadn't been spaghetti with tomato-meat sauce. It was a main entree. Shudder. Shouldn't a place with a name like this know that spaghetti with meat sauce is not ordinarily served cold?

One of my favorite places to eat is Zia's:

Zia's Caffe in Kaneohe, Hawaii - Fine Italian cuisine
                      www.ziaskaneohe.com/

Zia's Caffé has been bringing fine Italian cuisine with a fun family atmosphere to the Windward side of Oahu since 1998.

They also have a Zia's Caffe in Kailua as well:
                      201 Hamakua Dr, Kailua
                      (808) 262-7168

                      Spreading the virus of ALOHA.
Oh Chu. If only you could have seen what I've seen, with your eyes.

                          Zippy's

They have some pretty good choices of food. . I highly recommend them too

It is much better if you eat inside the restaurant instead out in the open, plus it is a lot cooler inside the restaurant. .

A cute little section of a restaurant, but they don't have an website, not sure if they will have any....

                            its called Ono Sushi :

                            808-524-0024
                            1729 Liliha Str.
                            M-F 7am - 10 pm
                            Sat/Sun 9 am - 9 pm

this is their only site that I found:

                              Big City Diner.....

*from March they have not updated their home page yet.

Although they are pretty ok place to go & eat. I would give them a B plus.

                              http://bigcitydinerhawaii.com/menu/

                              http://bigcitydinerhawaii.com/locations/

The only thing with them is, they don't have any known location in the mainland at all. I think its mainly here in the islands.
