Sorry guys... I'm giving you excerpts here from what the Palace is saying in response to all of this-- 4 minutes ago

"The removal of government functions from the Palace and its restoration as the place of residence of the Hawaiian alii were, in fact, & its history with our residents, our keiki and our visitors. "
"we believe that blocking public access to Iolani Palace is wrong and certainly detrimental to our mission to share the Palace-"
"While we respect the freedom of Hawaiian groups to hold an opinion on the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom"

OMG!!!! I like go down dea but I boiling Fresh Corn Beef Brisket.

"Hawaiian Kingdom Government", one of several sovereignty groups in Hawaii, took over Iolani Palace this morning. All gates into the palace are blocked off and locked. From HawaiiReporter developing story.
      I'm still here. Are you?

        It's State Property.

The Governor's Office is right across the way.

        Any word?

At least they aren't hurting anyone to try to make a point.

My mom is at work so I just broke the news to her and first words out of her mouth was, "You see any of your crazy cousin's there?" Not that she thinks that those of us who protest things are crazy but there are certainly some people in my family more likely to do so than others.

Mahalo for the pictures and updates.
I'm disgusted and repulsed, and I can't look away.

"I'm finding out that there will be a call to prayer at the Queen Liliuokalani statue tonight at 5:30pm."

Located between State Capitol and Iolani Palace.

They block access to non-Hawaiians, but it's okay for them to use something that was manufactured by the Hillman Group in Cincinnati, OH. I doubt it was a Hawaiian who made that yellow sign.

I hope they take good care of the Palace.

After Bumpy Kanahele's group occupied Makapuu lighthouse it ended up totally trashed.

What would happened if someone tried to actually do their business on the grounds? Like do research at the archive? Would they be prevented from doing so?

apparently they are allowing folks onto the grounds who have business to conduct. Angela wouldn't have been allowed in otherwise - she works for the PR firm representing the Palace. The Exec. Director obviously had help writing his statement to the press

They mention in the Advertiser article that only those with Hawaiian bloodlines are allowed on the grounds. Do they have to show proof? Birth certificate? Kau Inoa card? How?
