Re: Left v. Right on HT

I didn't appreciate that I was lumped with all those other individuals with right wing views. It felt like I was on a police lineup for everyone to see.

How would you feel if I posted everyone...

Re: Left v. Right on HT

Whatever. I don't need this public criticism of my opinions at this point. My life is already stressful enough. So, I'm going to ask that my account here be terminated.

Re: Left v. Right on HT

Who made you the judge/jury and executioner to make a blanket opinion about me in that way? You can't solely conjure up an opinion just by looking at a cover of a book. The same goes for people. You...

Re: Left v. Right on HT

For starters, you don't have a clue who I am and what I stand for. So, it is unfair to pigeonhole my opinions as right-wing. The most important thing to me is trying to make Hawaii a better place. I...

Re: Left v. Right on HT

I think its a bit unfair to characterize myself strictly a right leaning individual. Yes I do have some right leaning views, but I also have views that could be characterized as moderate.

Re: Oceanic increasing Road Runner speeds?

I agree Hawaii has pathetic Internet speeds. However, lets look at the facts. The multiple owners of Hawaiian Telcom over the years have failed to upgrade their aging last mile copper loop...

Re: Oceanic increasing Road Runner speeds?

Hawaii tops for growth in Internet speed (http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2010/Apr/21/bz/hawaii4210329.html)

"More speed is on the way from Oceanic, which this year plans to roll out a...

Re: Roadrunner going down in quality

It appears the FCC site is being flaky. So, I uploaded the document (http://thekonablog.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/09-133-08-17-2010-sandwich-isles-communications-inc-7020708702.pdf) on to my blog....

Re: How reliable/accurate is Speedtest.net?

Time Warner Cable uses powerboost technology (http://www.entrepreneur.com/tradejourna /article/183940772.html) to temporarily enhance download speeds. This is why you inflated speed tests.

Re: Roadrunner going down in quality

I'm surprised there is still speed issues with Oceanic Time Warner Cable's service. OTW orginally had to re-route connections to Los Angeles (and back to Hawaii) after Wavecom/TwTelecom's fiber was...

Re: The A-Team

I would be surprised if they make a sequel. The movie has only made 75 million (http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=ateam.htm). It cost 110 million to produce.

HDMI Cabling Issue

I swapped the composite cabling for a HDMI cable between my HD set top box and my HD TV. However, the picture would frequently black out between a black screen and the TV feed. This doesn't happen...

Craig,

Mahalo for the offer. However, I'll probably order the cabling online since I won't be coming over to Hilo for another month or so. There is a site (http://www.monoprice.com) where I can...

In addition, you...

Re: HDTV Television Question

I recently ran into this issue when I was watching Dog The Bounty Hunter. The SD A&E channel had Dog on the regular time. However, the HD A&E channel was showing infomercials at the same time.

Re: TV Cabling Question

I'm leaning towards swapping the cabling just to see if there is any difference. There is a site (http://www.monoprice.com) where they sell cheap HDMI cables. So, I think I'll give a shot.

HDTV Television Question

I'm curious why certain HDTV channels television feed is different than the SDTV version? I've noticed this difference on A&E's HD and SD channels.

TV Cabling Question

I'm curious if I should replace the component video cable (which Oceanic supplied) with a HDMI cable. Is there any discernible benefit to do this? The HDTV set top box has a HDMI outlet.
