Re: Homeless solutions
Ron, haven't been on HT for many years, but tonight I got drawn in by this thread and devoted a portion of my evening to reading all your updates on the homeless situation. You've shared facts of...

Re: Homeless solutions
Many women may not have choosen to get pregnant. I suspect also that there are many women who were raped, and if you are homeless and female, you're an automatic target for any predator. Is the...

Re: Where Did All The Nice People Go?
Someone posted about HT on FB, so I thought I'd pay a visit after many years and see if the site was still being used. I do miss the days when people were actively posting here, including me! Hope...

Re: Restaurants & Fast Foods
Agreed! Think HT needs to have a chili cook off contest. I'll judge! :D
Actually, I don't eat beef, so I've only had the vegetarian version of Zippy's. Didn't care for it. Need my chili SPICY...

Agreed! Why aren't there any of those around here?!?! (Are you listening Puka Dog? You could expand your audience! In the meantime, there's always the chicken sausage at Hank's...)

Re: Puka Dogs?
The fact hasn't changed that most locals still avoid Waikiki unless they happen to live there. I live in Waiks, but I prefer to have fun with my friends downtown.

Re: Is college a bust?
Coincidentally, just yesterday finished reading Susan Coll's "Acceptance," a satire on the whole college admissions process. An amusing read, btw.
Colleges cost money-->parents are under...

Re: Smaller cars in Hawaii?
I've been joking out of frustration that cars/trucks have been getting wider and bigger because of the rising obesity epidemic. People (and some of their pets!) can't fit inside smaller vehicles...

I first heard about this place on Food Network. Been there a couple of times.
They do have a vegetarian version too, just an FYI for any who want to try it but don't eat meat. The fun lies more...

Re: Hawaiian Airlines' New Mileage Policy
I sympathize with the airlines losing so much money, especially due to the price of fuel. I agree that they've done it to themselves by trying to undercut the competition to the point that it comes...

Re: Lunchwagon 2.0: Favorite New Food Trucks
Think that since they've decided to make Eat the Street (http://www.streetgrindz.com/eatthestreet/) a monthly thing, the attendance has become less frenetic. Having more trucks and having the trucks...

In related news, there is an interesting program, "Escape from Auschwitz Secrets of the Dead" on PBS Hawaii tonight at 8pm.

Re: Between a rock and a risky place?
I've known many a person who chose the get-a-job-after-moving-to-Hawaii route, and that usually results in a high dissatisfaction rate and quick move back to the Mainland when an ideal job doesn't...

Re: New Establishments/Jin Din Rou
Heard mixed reviews so far. The general opinion was to wait until the place had a chance to settle in, get all their menu items available, etc.
One review I've seen so far:...

Because the Jack In the Box on McCully is on my route to the freeway, I admit to eating there way more often than I should via drive-thru. Be careful if you order something from the "value menu" too...

Love Wendy's but my experiences with the one on Puuloa (which I've only visited twice in the course of 8 years, due to negative experience both times) would lead me to recommend not going to that...

Re: Restaurants & Fast Foods
