When I moved to the mainland last year, I realized I had accumulated quite a stunning pile of junk. I too called 1-800-GOT-JUNK for my dump run.

While it wasn't all that cheap, it was convenient....

I picked up a G11 last week.

Fine camera. Fully manual, and the optics are just fine for a point and shoot. The swivel screen can come in handy, although I'm mainly using it rangefinder style...

As for the stick thing... When I got my license in Japan, I had to take a special test to drive stick. It's marked on your license whether you're legal to drive stick or auto.
