Re: Hotel Recommendations?

Thanks for the suggestions. I was going to stay in Waikiki at the Embassy Suites but decided on the Ala Moana Hotel instead. The location was great, and the government rate gets you an ocean view...

Re: What are you currently reading?

Never read a Neal Stephenson book yet. Which one do you recommend? I see he's got a new one just out called Anathem which looks like it might interest my daughter.

Re: Who Should Be Obama’s VP?

My apologies for the name switch, MF; that's what I get for multitasking. I was indeed responding to you.

My post was really about campaign strategies and what candidates say and how their...

Re: Who Should Be Obama’s VP?

No, you misunderstood me, Myopic. I don't have a dog in this fight. I understand the context of Biden's comment completely; my point is that comments like that can be used by his opponents by...

Re: Who Should Be Obama’s VP?

Why in the world would Joe Biden make this comment (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/biden-hillary-a.html)?

This would seem to be undercutting the argument that the Dems have...

Re: The 2008 Presidential Elections - Chapter 3

I've been thinking about the women at Pua'i's aerobics class, and comparing them with my liberal girlfriends here in Seattle. None of my friends were impressed with Palin's convention address at...

Re: What are you currently reading?

I'm not much into chick lit, but two audiobooks that were amazingly entertaining that I'd recommend (as audio or book form) are: The Undomestic Goddess and Can You Keep a Secret, both by Sophie...

Re: Best Part of Today

I am totally wiped out from stuff I had to deal with at work today. Best part of my day was getting home from work (at 7 pm) and my DH making us rice and Zippy's chili. Now if I only had Maui...

Hmm, I would probably like LikaNui's mom.

I think Peggy Noonan, she of the open microphone on MSN, was exactly right in how she described Palin:

Re: Sarah Palin - pros & cons
